Yankee Meyer Lemon

I adore citrus, fruity and fresh candle scents. They are hands down my favorites as I am not a flower scented type of girl. I find the flowery scents give me a splitting headache and the fruit and fresh scents are just perfect for me! I also love this time of year as the candle companies are putting out primarily light, fresh and fruity scents. I can only take so much caramels, sugars and heavy Autumn/Winter scents.

In this video the host talks about some Yankee candles she purchased. I find it helpful to watch some of these videos about scent reviews because I do not want to waste my money! So here are the scents that she covers:

Meyer Lemon

Wild Passion Fruit Candle

I adore Yankee Candles. They are probably my second favorite candles after Trapp Candles. I am a fruity and fresh kind of gal so I love all the delicious scents they offer. I’m especially in love with their bright and crisp Spring and Summer scents such as Cherry Lemonade and Black Cherry. What can I say, I’m on a cherry kick right now!

One thing I am dying to try is their new Summer and Spring scents. I have not smelled the Meyer Lemon, Fruit Fusion or Wild Passion Fruit yet, but I cannot wait to do so soon! I plan to make a trip to the Yankee store this week and do a little spending.

I found this video on youtube today that is a quick commercial for their Q2 scents, which is the scents available in the UK. Enjoy and let me know what your favorite Yankee scent is:

Slatkin & Co. Candles

I love these weekly wax reviews you can watch on youtube, and of course they are weekly!
They are short videos talking about different candles the host burned over the past week. She burns a lot of tarts and candles, and has a lot of thoughts on them! That is great to me, as I hate wasting money on candles that do not smell great once you burn them.

I particularly love to hear about the Bath & Body Works candles as I am a huge Slatkin & Co. Fan. Slatkin American Boardwalk Candle

A lot of people have been talking about the new American Boardwalk Candle collection available at Bath & Body Works from Slatkin & Co. candles. Personally I have tried two of the scents and love them! I found this great video on youtube today that talks about five different scents.

Here are the scents offered in the collection and their descriptions provided by Bath & Body Works:

Beach Cabana - Relax in the cool shade with sweet jasmine, orange blossom and a hint of musk.
Oceanside – Refreshing as a long getaway to the ocean – watery greens and cucumber blend deliciously with juicy melon and peony petals.
White Sand – Like the first long days of summer at the beach – sparkling grapefruit and sandalwood, with coconut milk and summer jasmine.
Beach Grass – Like a stroll on the dunes at sunrise – dewy greens, palmetto grass and sweet white freesia.
Seashore – Savor the feeling of the coast and blue skies overhead with crisp water lotus, bright citrus and a touch of salt water in the air.
Summer Boardwalk – Like memories of the best summer spent at the beach – caramel-glazed popcorn, warm taffy-apples and salted, sweet cream.
Root Beer Float – A treat that always delights – sweet root beer poured over pure vanilla ice cream, with a touch of nutmeg.

I am so excited about the Bath & Body Works Slatkin & Co. American Boardwalk Collection. I have purchased a couple different ones, and I’m loving them!

The American Boardwalk Collection contains the following scents:

Slatkin & Co. American Boardwalk Candle Collection

American Boardwalk Root Beer Float Candle

I am excited for the American Boardwalk collection of candles to arrive in Bath & Body Works stores on 5/18/12! The line of candles has fun scents such as: Root Beer Float, Summer Boardwalk & Beach Cabana. Having grown up spending every summer on the boardwalks of New Jersey, this is very exciting to me!

The candles will be in stores on May 18th, so until I can smell them in person, I just ordered a couple to try out now: Root Beer Float & Summer Boardwalk. They are described as the following:

Summer Boardwalk - Like memories of the best summer spent at the beach – caramel-glazed popcorn, warm taffy-apples and salted, sweet cream.
Root Beer Float - A treat that always delights – sweet root beer poured over pure vanilla ice cream, with a touch of nutmeg.

Slatkin & Co. Test Scent Haul – Many Now in Stores

Slatkin & Co. Candles

I love hearing about test scents from Bath & Body Works, because I love to see the different ideas they have. I found this video on youtube today talking about some of their test scents, some of which are now in stores!

The scents in this video that the host talks about are the following:

Market Peach
Wild Strawberry
Mango Cilantro
Blackberry Grapefruit
Papaya Spice

The scents above are all from the Market Fresh line and I believe I have seen all of them in the stores except for Papaya Spice. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure. Personally I have tried Mango Cilantro and Wild Strawberry. I hated Wild Strawberry – absolutely hated it, but I did enjoy the Mango Cilantro.

Her video goes on to talk about many other Slatkin & Co. candles that are currently available and some that are not! Check out the video below and let us know your thoughts in the comments section!

Review of Slatkin & Co. Lemon Mint Leaf Candle

Lemon Mint Leaf

I am in love with Slatkin & Co. Lemon Mint Leaf candle right now. For me, I feel like it is the perfect Springtime scent. It is fresh, it is sweet, and it is lovely.

I recently purchased about 10 Slatkin & Co. candles on their 2 for $20 sale (you have to love those Bath & Body Works candle sales!) and have been burning them like crazy. Some are hits, and some are misses, but I have to say I am currently loving the heck out of Lemon Mint Leaf.

Lemon Mint Leaf is described as: bright and refreshing – lemon balm and green spearmint blend delightfully with fresh citrus and vetiver. I would describe it as light and fresh with a touch of sweetness. It reminds me of a sweet lemonade with a few sprigs of mint in it. Clean and fruity and delicious! I find it to be absolutely wonderful!

Review of Slatkin & Co. Wild Strawberry Candle

Slatkin & Co. Wild Strawberry Candle

Ohhhh….Wild Strawberry candle. How promising you sounded, and how dreadful you really are. Well, at least that is my opinion of it. I recently stopped in at Bath & Body Works and made a pretty big haul on their 2 for $20 Slatkin & Co. candle sale. I like all the candles I purchased except for Wild Strawberry

Wild Strawberry is described as: Red, ripened berries, still warm from the strawberry patch, blend perfectly with wild honeysuckle and orange flower. I would describe it as a very bad tummy ache and also a very bad headache. The smell is so artificial and so bad, it literally makes me sick to my stomach and gives me a blinding headache. It may be the floral notes in there as well, as I cannot handle those scents.

I was so disgusted with this candle I’m going to try to give it away to my sister, and if she doesn’t like it I will probably throw it away. Here is my short review on Wild Strawberry:

Slatkin & Co. Paradise Daiquiri

I love going to the Bath & Body Works sales for their 2 for $20 Slatkin & Co. candles. I am especially fond of the sweet and juicy light scents that are perfect for Spring and Summer. In this video the host comments on some of her recent picks!

The candles she picked up are the following:

Paradise Daiquiri – A raspberry twist on a classic pina colada – made with dark rum and sweet orange, topped with coconut cream and warm vanilla.
White Palm – LIke a warm Caribbean breeze, refreshing white palm leaves and dewy greens combine perfectly with sweet peach blossoms.
Jungle Kiss – An exotic jungle blend of spicy tiger lily kissed with the sweetness of juicy peach, creamy sandalwood and juicy coconut.
Bahama Fizz – One of my favorites! Described as refreshing and delicious – a sparkling cocktail of fresh kiwi, island banana, and orange flower infused with spiced rum.
Green Grass – refreshing as a shaded grass on a warm sunny day
Sunrise Lagoon – Like the sunrise of a tranquil lagoon, an uplifting blend of juicy melon and citrus layered with sweet, wild jasmine and pink peony. Sounds too floral for me…
